On March 04, 2013, the Mercedes-Benz Club of America – Hawaii Section presented a modest donation of $400 to Nanakuli High School for their Agriculture Natural Resource Department.
These funds are intended to assist them with future department projects. One project in particular is the use of Hydroponics as a method of growing plants. Eventually, the department plans a Photovoltaic System to help reduce electricity expenses that operate the system.
This money was collected by the club through the generosity of particiants at our 1st Annual Oktoberfest, held at the beautiful Pali Golf Course back on October 28 of last year.
Accepting our donation was Nanakuli High School Principal, Mr. Darin Pilialoha and the director of the Natural Resource Department, Mr. Myles Murakami.
Presenting the donation was the MBCA-Hawaii Section President, Greggory Gibbons; Vice President, Nancy Cranston; and Treasurer, Russell Kulinski.
The club hopes to continue this type of outreach for the benefit of various Public School programs throughout Oahu.
A big Mahalo to all who donated and participated in our ‘Okakopa Ho ‘olaule ‘a. We look forward to you joining us in future Hawaii Section events and activities!
